When the Oaklands College Sport Department needed a new brand identity to unify all the various disciplines, I got the call.
Sport Students had already completed a set of questionnaires to determine the animal that would best represent them and a wolf came out on top - Oaklands Wolves slowly emerged to form a unifying badge of honour, worn with pride and showcased on everything from sports kits to team transport.
Once the Wolf had been determined as the animal to represent the various Sports Teams, presentations were made to determine the 'feel' for the new identity. Student feedback sessions provided the way forward.
When the Sports Teams needed a version of The Wolves Team logo to go on tour and become a hashtag, I briefed illustrator Dave Stephens to create a new T-Shirt logo. Bearing in mind the actual Wolves Identity, this is what I sent to Dave as the briefing document to get the ball rolling.
Dave came back with a series of suggestions to build towards the final approved T-Shirt Logo
The Final Version, proudly worn by the Sports Teams when abroad.
Our sports students were keen to have a strong umbrella identity under which all the various sports teams and elite academies could compete. Mike developed and refined their initial ideas and created the Oaklands Wolves identity. The design was an immediate success with staff and students alike who now all wear their Wolves branded kit with pride.
Mike works with Oaklands College across a number of projects and always fully embraces the brief, adding real value with his ideas and suggestions.
His commitment and project management skills, together with his creative abilities, make him a delight to work with.
